Supporting Maria’s Animal Shelter

Supporting Maria’s Animal Shelter

We are proud to be working with Maria’s Animal Shelter to offer six cheeky male guinea pigs a new and happy home at Trevella Park.

We are helping to raise awareness and funds for the shelter, to support all of the good work that Maria and her team does looking after a large variety of animals in need.

Maria Mulkeen went to Duchy College in Camborne to pursue her passion for animals and their welfare. She started her shelter on a perfect little piece of land in Probus with just one pony. The shelter is a big success and has taken in a huge selection of animals, including goats, sheep, kune kune pigs, geese, ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, degus, budgies and hamsters!

As the shelter grows, Maria is finding it increasingly harder to self fund the work. She already works a full time night shift and makes her own preserves, soaps and greetings cards to sell in shops and at market.

Every spare moment Maria has goes into caring for the animals and fundraising to keep the shelter going. This remarkable lady aims to keep all the animals healthy and happy and provides a permanent home for any if no suitable new home can be found.

Maria’s shelter wouldn’t be possible without local support. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be accepted at the Trevella Park reception.
