OUR NEWSLETTER
January 2008 Vol1 Issue 1
A few changes
By the time you receive this, our first newsletter, we hope you all
had a good Christmas and New Year.
We are doing things a little differently this year, normally you
would have received a new brochure last November, but from now on
the brochure will be sent out in January, however we know many of
you like to book early and some of you have already done so, and as
of the 1st March 2008 you can start booking for the 2009 season.
Well that's some of the changes taken care of. The fact that you
have received this newsletter means you are already a valued
customer, so we would like to take this opportunity to thank for
your past custom and hopefully see you all in the very near future.
Start of construction
The construction of a new toilet block extension started at the beginning of
November and we are all really pleased with the progress made to date. The
new toilets consist of eight very spacious family rooms, each of which will have
a shower, hand basin and W.C. One has been designated disabled, and one will
be fitted with a baby bath and changing facility. There will also be a much
larger washing up facility, and whilst we were at it we thought to completely
refurbish the original toilets so each unit will have more showers. Weill must
get on I have quite a bit of tiling to do yet, somebody told me we open on the
15th March!
David Bellamy Conservation awards
As you all know we have been David Bellamy conservation award Gold winners
for the past few Years. I am pleased to tell you that we have been awarded the
Gold award again for the 2007 season.
Message from David Bellamy
"Congratulations on keeping up the usual impeccable standards. Your assessor is always singing your praises and this year is no exception. I particularly like the idea of a photographic competition. These days they are very popular with most of the population taking photos all the time in this digital age. A shining example to other parks. The West Country is very proud of you. Keep up the good work."Congratulations to our photo competition winners
Steven Maycroft From Worcester (Adult competition)
Kyle McLachlan From Grangemouth Scotland ( Junior Competition)
Green Tourism Business Scheme
We have also joined The Green Tourism Business Scheme, and at present we are awaiting grading.
Criteria for the GTBS
The aim of the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) criteria is to offer guidelines to tourism businesses on how to make their operations more sustainable while still delivering a high quality service. When developing the criteria consideration has been given to a wide range of social and environmental factors, as well as up-to-date technological developments.
