We stayed at Trevella in a static caravan for week over May/June half term with our four and seven year old having only found the site in October last year when we stayed for a weekend. Great family friendly site and helpful staff. If you do one thing while you are there get a map at reception and at low tide do the walk from the site across a couple of fields and on to the sandy river bed of the Gannel Estuary and follow it to Crantock beach. It's amazing! My four year old managed it though we did pull him down the river in a rubber dingy! There were showls of flat fish swimming round our legs as we waded downstream! Crantock beach is excellent and the estuary is a great safe place for the children to play at low tide, and you can keep an eye on them. The water is also warmer than the sea! RNLI lifeguards on the beach.

We went to Fistral beach in Newquay once during the week but the parking there is expensive, if you can find a space, and we decided that we all preferred Crantock beach. There is a cafe in the upper car park that does great pasties.

On the site the crazy golf had been re-vamped since last year and it costs something like 30p a person! We only went in the outdoor heated pool once as we were in the sea every day and they have a little toddler pool which was really warm. Breakfast butties from site cafe in the morning a must.

“The wildflowers around the park are magnificent, with mixtures of different species in different locations. An area around one of the lakes was cleared of gorse and bramble last winter and now gives rise to a superb display of smaller wildflower including orchids”.

“Day or night, light or dark, we saw lots of creatures in the park. Bugs and birds, frogs and fish. Beautiful dragonflies - we made a wish. Rabbits hopping - sheep a grazing watching wildlife is amazing. Time went quickly we counted the hours, walked through the fields admiring the flowers.”
