Discover Cornwall
There are miles of quiet lanes and pretty footpaths to explore nearby - some end at pubs, some at beaches and some back where you started from. Leave Trevella and take a pleasant walk across the fields to the Gannel Estuary (half a mile), which takes you to either Crantock Beach or into Newquay (one and a half miles and via The Fern Pit ferryboat at high tide).
Crantock village, has ancient inns and a pretty church within earshot of the sea. At high tide the estuary is good for fishing and ideal for boating and canoeing - at low tide it’s a delight for birdwatchers.
Cornwall has a wealth of tourist attractions such as theme parks, National Trust properties with superb gardens and wonderful flowers , local carnivals, sailing regattas and gig races. The Tate Gallery at St. Ives is only 30 miles away and the Minack, an open-air theatre carved on the side of the cliffs with the sea as a backdrop, is about an hour by car.
