Disability access at Trevella Park

The purpose of the following statement is to describe the accessibility of Trevella Park to help people with restricted access decide if we can cater for their needs. Here’s a quick guide to accessibility at Trevella Park:

  • We have two disabled-access caravan holiday homes available to rent
  • There is wheelchair-friendly access to all buildings and communal areas. There is a two-inch step between the reception and shop, with assistance available if required
  • We have separate fully accessible wet room bathing and toilet facilities
  • There are guest parking spaces adjoining all our caravans, glamping tents and touring pitches
  • There is parking directly outside of reception, our shop, cafe and launderette, with one disabled parking bay immediately outside the reception and shop
  • We have two wheelchair friendly fishing platforms, each with room for two people to fish
  • All enquiries and bookings can be conducted via our web site and/or by email
  • Out of hours emergency assistance is available 24hrs a day

Pre-Arrival

  • We confirm all holiday bookings by email, and we can be contacted by telephone, email and post. We accept calls through the TextDirect and TypeTalk services
  • Our website complies with the Web Accessibility Initiative and all pages are built to AA (Double A) standard, complying with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines
  • We can put you in touch with a local company that hires wheelchairs
  • All our buildings are single-storey with no stairs or lifts

Public Transport

  • Bus: There is a bus stop directly outside the entrance to Trevella Park. A timetable is available in Reception
  • Train: Our nearest station is Newquay (3 miles)
  • Plane: The nearest airport is Newquay Cornwall Airport (8 miles)

Reception

  • There is ramp access into reception and a lower counter for guests in wheelchairs. There is a small two-inch step between reception and the shop, with assistance available if needed
  • There are parking places located close to reception, and a disabled parking bay immediately outside
  • The opening hours are 8.00am–9.00pm during school holiday periods and 8.30am–5.30pm at other times. Opening times can vary, so please ask the team for latest details

Shop

  • There are two entrances to the shop. From reception, there is a wide entrance and a two-inch step into the shop with assistance available if required. There is a second entrance via a ramp at the front of the shop
  • The shop is level and on one storey, with aisles that are wide enough for wheelchair access
  • Shelves are stacked from floor level to head height, and assistance is always available if you should need it
  • There are parking places located close by, and a disabled parking bay immediately outside

Launderette

  • The launderette has a wide door with a ramp entrance
  • The closest parking is at reception, around 20 metres away. There is one disabled parking bay at reception
  • All washers and dryers are front loading and coin operated

Cafe

  • Our cafe is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp entrance and space for wheelchair access between tables
  • The closest parking is at reception, around 20 metres away. There is one dedicated parking space

Public Areas

  • Trevella Park is is on a gentle slope, with our reception, shop, launderette and cafe located at the top. All of our facilities within the main public areas have flat access and wide doors
  • Guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are accepted in all areas
  • The main roads throughout the site and public areas are surfaced with tarmac
  • Key areas of the park are illuminated at night, with low level energy efficient lighting
  • There is a restricted speed limit in place throughout the site
  • Out of hours emergency assistance is available 24hrs a day
  • At Trevella Lake we have two wheelchair friendly fishing platforms, each with room for two people to fish. The ground around the lakes is level and suitable for most types of wheelchair
  • Our heated outdoor pool is open from May half term to the end of September, subject to weather conditions. Access to our outdoor pool is limited by a security-coded door and the control box is located around 3ft from the ground. We do not have a hoist available for helping people in an out of the pool. The pool is not life-guarded
  • There is a direct access to Crantock Beach, although this is not wheelchair accessible. The route is around one mile (20 mins). There is a large car park at Crantock Beach with overflow parking available for busy periods. There is a flat track enabling access to the beach. A beach wheelchair is available to rent at Trevella Park
  • We have separate and fully accessible wet room bathing and toilet facilities for wheelchair users in our touring field
  • We have two playgrounds for children. The first has slides and swings and has open access. The second is an adventure playground with a swing gate to keep animals out

Hire Caravans

  • We have two disabled accessible caravan holiday homes available. They feature ramp access, wide doors, sliding interior doors, grab rails, low profile shower access, shower seat. Our hire caravans are not designed to accommodate persons who require hoists or those persons that cannot be lifted from wheelchair to the bedroom areas. The majority of our caravans are not wheelchair accessible as they have up to four steps to the door or terrace
  • There is guest parking available directly outside all of our accommodation and touring pitches. We will try and locate you close to facilities if you advise us of your requirements in advance
  • We accept guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs free of charge, but you need to tell us about them when you book
  • Most of our holiday caravans have showers and not baths. Many of our caravans have an en-suite off the main bedroom
  • All static caravans are level inside with no steps but with narrow corridors
  • All caravans are fitted with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, and a fire blanket/extinguisher. All our caravans are non smoking

Touring Pitches and Facilities

  • All our touring fields are serviced by defined roads constructed from either tarmac or compacted gravel. Parking is permitted on each touring/camping pitch
  • Our team can advise on the location of pitches and suitability for your requirements
  • All public access toilets and shower blocks have wide entrance doors and are level throughout. The toilet and shower facilities provided are spacious, well lit and open 24 hours a day. We have separate fully accessible wet room bathing and toilet facilities suitable for wheelchair access
